Senior Accounting Analyst - lakeview (Chicago)

Our client is hiring a Senior Accounting Analyst to report directly into the Controller of a growing services company in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago. This Senior Accounting Analyst opportunity is ideal for someone who lives on the north side of Chicago or who is accessible to the brown line (CTA line). The ideal Senior Accounting Analyst candidate will have three+ years of corporate accounting experience, or a combination of corporate accounting and public accounting experience. In this position you will work closely with the Controller on all accounting and finance matters for the company. Senior Accounting Analyst Responsibilities include:

    • Manage the entire accounting process and financial reporting

    • Review, prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and supporting schedules, including financial statements, budget and forecasts.

    • Analyze variances compared to prior year, prior quarter and forecast for management reporting.

    • Assist in completing monthly bank account reconciliation and analysis

    • Complete monthly general ledger account reconciliation and analysis

    • Complete month-end and year-end general journal entries and closes

    • Assist in preparing monthly cash flow projections & plans for all divisions

    • Assist in annual audit.

    • Complete special projects as needed in a timely and organized manner.

    • Supervise staff, manage tasks to completion and recommend operational improvements to the finance team.

Qualifications:

    • BA/BS in Accounting with outstanding academic credentials

    • CPA preferred.

    • Three+ years of experience in a corporate accounting; public accounting experience is preferred, but not required.

    • Strong knowledge of GAAP with financial statement preparation experience.
