Beacon Hill Legal's client, full service, super-regional law firm, located in Syracuse NY is Sr. Payroll Coordinator position is responsible for performing heavy payroll and statistical analysis with a multistate employer, which include other company/subsidiary payrolls for W-2, 1099 and K-1 payroll processing. Incumbent will perform detailed payroll and audit duties under the direction of the HR Administrator. This high level, visible role requires an incredible degree of precision and payroll knowledge.

Responsibilities:

  • Extract, analyze and compile biweekly payroll data for multiple company codes
  • High level payroll knowledge will be applied on a regular basis when dealing with DOL regulations, FSA and tax status nuances with W-2, 1099 and K-1 employee and partner payroll data and benefits
  • Analyze payroll data such as insurance, vacation time, 401(k) deductions, etc. and input/set up in ADP payroll system
  • Compile internal management reports from payroll system, with heavy analytical data for monthly and quarterly internal reports
  • May also compile data for RFP requests from the ADP system.
  • May assist with classification review, compensation review, employment analysis and leave & benefit administration.
  • Tracks trends and developments in assigned functional area
  • Closely assist with payroll administration duties with a steady degree of increased responsibility as candidate progresses in this role.
  • Manages special projects and work independently.
  • Performs other related Human Resource duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work overtime on a frequent basis and without much advance notice.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and at least 8 years of directly related payroll experience or equivalent combination of education and specific payroll experience required
  • ADP payroll experience desirable with payroll responsibility and knowledge well above payroll entry duties.
  • Must have a solid knowledge base of payroll and tax knowledge.
  • Strong desire, aptitude and leadership qualities to grow in this career-pathed role.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to constantly prioritize workload.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading skills to verify accuracy of data and outstanding recall skills.
  • Ability to communicate with coworkers, management team members and other individuals in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to work in a highly confidential, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong team player and willingness to assist other team members when needed. A self- starter who can anticipate work needs, once acclimated into the Human Resources Department.
  • Solid Excel skills, with above average Word skills.
  • Aderant or other billing/time entry system knowledge desired in a professional services industry.
