IT Support Engineer, Woburn MA (Hybrid/Remote Friendly) - $70,000-90,000/year

One of New England's fastest growing and best places to work is hiring an IT Support Engineer. This company is in the construction and labor management industry. They are seeking an experienced IT support person to join, using their technology skills to make this firm even more efficient. In this role, the support person will oversee IT systems and assets, assist with upgrades and fixes, and provide training and support as needed. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of computer hardware and software, network maintenance, and industry trends to keep them on the cutting edge. Engaging with employees throughout the company, the IT support person will have an immediate impact on the efficiency of our operations and overall growth.

Objectives of this role

  • Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware
  • Handle business-critical IT tasks and system improvements
  • Enable faster and smarter business processes and employee productivity
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert supporting Sharepoint Cloud, all Microsoft Office products, Adobe, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and support workstation software, hardware, printers, and phones
  • Analyze staff needs, identify vulnerabilities, and boost efficiency and accuracy
  • Execute systems and network design, documentation, implementation, testing, and administration, and ensure components meet business needs and work together seamlessly
  • Implement applications and software upgrades and troubleshoot any performance issues
  • Train employees in using software and hardware, and provide technical support when needed
  • Investigate, design and build a software application which will be rolled out throughout the org in the future

Required skills and qualifications

  • Four years of experience in IT
  • Deep knowledge of operating systems, current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and system performance monitoring tools
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information

Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in computer science
  • Project management experience
  • Professional SharePoint certification
  • Software programming experience
