Required Skills:
5+ years of experience working in IT environments
3+ years of experience focusing on networks and firewall upgrades, enhancements, maintenance, support
2+ years of experience working with Palo Alto firewalls
A background and firm understanding of network routing protocols and VPNs.
Experience working with Cisco, Juniper or Extreme networks.
Ability to work on an on-call rotation
Certification with Palto Alto
Desired Skills:
Experience mentoring other engineers, analyst or administrators
Familiarity with Extreme Network
Cisco Meraki
SolarWinds
Azure, AWS, GCP or any cloud environment experience is a plus
Ability to script with Python, Terraform, PowerShell or related languages is a plus.
Description of Role/Responsibilities:
Our client is looking to add an additional network security engineer to enhance their team with primarily Palo Alto upgrades. They will be responsible for instilling best practices within security and managing 3 datacenters with over 300 connected sites on a team of 8 engineers. They use a variety of technologies as they have acquired different environments including Cisco, Juniper or Extreme backbones. They need someone that is familiar with networking and how it relates to firewall support and enhancements. They will be working with a variety of environments so they primary skill they will need is Palo Alto.
