Our client, a manufacturing company, is looking for a Training and Development Leader to be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing both the technical and leadership training and development activities at their Chicago site. This position, based on experience, pays anywhere from $80k-110k.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an annual training plan for the plant, including specific training goals (gaps) for each area. Develop, schedule (in 24/5 operation), and conduct required, and recommended training sessions Monitor and evaluate progress against the plan as well as training effectiveness in all areas of the plant.
  • Review existing training programs; suggests enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of the organization, or the industry
  • Maintain employee training records in support of general business requirements under NADCAP, ISO, AS9100, ITAR and customer audits through Intelex
  • Accountable for leading the implementation of plant wide process and technical training programs and initiatives (new hire, enhancements, etc.)
  • Provide support to the plant staff and operations management in maintaining a consistent method of evaluating job performance and training program effectiveness, developing qualification tools, and maintaining proper training documentation
  • Prepare an annual training budget
  • Prepare and submit for IMA Training Grant
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Communications, or related field
  • 5+years of training experience in a manufacturing environment, both unionized and union free
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong graphic design ability
  • Manufacturing training experience
  • Ability to facilitate large groups
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Intelex (strongly preferred), E Learning Authorware (Articulate, Captivate) or related software
  • Ability to travel up to 25% in the future
