One of our clients in Los Angeles area is looking for an Unreal Engine Software Game Engineer with the following skills and experience:

Skills and Experience:

  • Must be familiar with the Unreal game engine
  • Connecting real world items that interact with digital media
  • C++ important to have
  • Prototyping and testing for upcoming attractions
  • 5-15 years of experience developing and delivering software
  • At least 3 years of experience developing and delivering software using Unreal Engine
  • Proficiency to Mastery of Modern C++ (14, 17, and later), as well as Unreal Engine flavored C++
  • Experience with delivering games to public release, or Experience delivering Location Based Experiences using Game Engines to the public, on both smaller and larger teams
  • Knowledge of modeling or animation tools such as Blender, 3DSMax, or Maya, and how they integrate with an Unreal Engine Workflow
  • Experience using Perforce for Revision Control
  • Experience with code reviews for games and interactive experiences using swarm, or equivalent
  • A broad understanding, comfort, and enthusiasm for technology and the ability to quickly and proactively learn new technologies, techniques, and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and Develop software in C and C++
  • Develop software in an Unreal Engine context, using WDI & Tools and Plugins
  • Develop Plugins and Library Adaptors for Unreal Engine
  • Support the team in rapid game prototyping and iteration through strong communication and an optimistic attitude towards solving problems
  • Assist Junior Developers in their tasks, learning, and growth
  • Contribute to interaction design and development in a continuously evolving environment
  • Rapidly iterate on interactions with the ability to adapt and learn quickly from them.
  • Develop digital game experiences that interact with real-world physical props and mechanisms.
  • Promote good software development practices, including version control and issue tracking
